theAuth joins GLINR Studios
theAuth, the open source auth for AI agents and humans, has joined GLINR Studios. A new site, a Go library, and a hosted platform on the way.

theAuth, the open source auth for AI agents and humans, has joined GLINR Studios. It has a new site at theauth.dev, docs at docs.theauth.dev, and a Go library for teams that run their services in Go.
Why the move
I started building theAuth in March 2026 to answer one question: who authenticates the agent? Since then the project has grown past what a personal repo should carry, with a Go library, more SDKs, signed releases and a docs site.
GLINR Studios is the studio I use to ship open source under one roof, next to theSVG. Moving theAuth there gives it a stable organization behind it and a place to grow, including a hosted platform that is planned for glinr.com.
What this means
- Home. The source lives at github.com/glincker/theauth and the packages ship under
@glinr/theauthon npm. - Site. A new theauth.dev, with docs at docs.theauth.dev.
- Go. theauth-go for Go services. I wrote about it in theauth-go: auth for AI agents and humans in Go.
- License. Still MIT, still open source.
Upgrading from an earlier version
If your project still uses older package or identifier names, a codemod renames them for you. Do a dry run first, then write the changes:
npx theauth codemod rename src
npx theauth codemod rename src --write --include-envOlder database tables are renamed in place, so no rows are lost. The full mapping is in the rename map.
What is next
A hosted theAuth is planned for glinr.com. I will announce it when it is ready, and the library stays open source either way. The best way to follow along is to star the repo.
